The Darwin Camera Club, located in Australia's most northern tropical capital city of Darwin; first met way back in 1947.
Initially the main interest was "cine" movies, but "still photography" is the main interest now.
Our members come from all walks of life and have differing levels of photographic knowledge and experience.

The Darwin Camera Club is striving to provide a supportive and social atmosphere in which its members may learn, improve and share their experience of photography with others.

Meetings
Meetings are generally held on the first Wednesday of the month, commencing at 7:30 pm. The venue is 96a Winnellie Road, Winnellie (next to Darwin Bakery).

Meetings fall into one of the following three broad categories:

* Presentation
- by a member of the club or an expert from the wider community on various topics of interest. These are generally informal nights with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and gain handy hints.

DCC at Katherine Gorge 07
* Excursion's
- to various areas around the city of Darwin or the outer regions. Club members will have the opportunity to take photos related to the previous Presentation night's topic and practice new skills. Plenty of opportunities exist to ask questions of more experienced members. Excursions may or may not fall on a normal club meeting night.

*Appraisal
- of photos taken at the previous Excursion.
Club members are encouraged to bring photos or digital images along to discuss how a particular image was created and how it may possibly be improved.
Various photoshop "techniques" are discussed by experienced members so you can learn to do the same!

*Special Events*
The members of the Darwin Camera Club have been provided special access to events for photography, via arrangements made by the committee. The committee is striving to maintain access to these events while also always looking for new opportunities.

*Official Photographer
The Darwin Camera Club is "Official Photographer" for the Royal Darwin Show and the Northern Territory Calisthenics Association. Special access is provided to events at the shows for photographers. The photographs are available for sale with a percentage of the proceeds going to the club.

*NOTE - Less experienced photographers can be teamed with a more experienced photographer to gain experience and knowledge through participation.
