President's report
First of all I would like to say a huge WELCOME to all the new members we had at the August meeting following the Royal Darwin Show. I hope you all enjoyed your night and will come back again.
Results from this year’s Four Corners Competition were revealed at the August meeting, with Darwin coming overall winner – how fabulous are we?? Also our own Caitlin Oldershaw took out equal first place for an individual photo – Congratulations Caitlin. Four Corners 2010 is already in the making, and Darwin Camera Club will be selecting the best of our best at our May meeting next year. So sort through the photo catalogues or get snapping to create some fantastic images to keep Darwin on top.
Don’t forget to bring your camera to the September meeting as it’s time to get creative. We are asking everyone to bring along one item (a favourite vase, that old lava lamp that’s hidden in the cupboard, anything really), we’ll get some lighting happening and the rest is up to you. A great chance to share ideas, tricks and techniques.
Also in September we have the next Callisthenics shoot happening, come along and give us a hand on Friday 11th or Sat 12th September at the Darwin Entertainment Centre. Sunday 18 October will be a field trip to Finlay’s, followed by brunch in the café.
That’s it for now – hope to see you at one or all of the events in September.
Cheers
Sharon Hinton
President, Darwin Camera Club
